Brian,

Very fine resolutions. I didn't exactly make these as resolutions, but I have started to try taking better care of myself. I joined the YMCA, and I even found an older man who goes with me and sets up the machines for me, since most of them are quite inaccessible. I use the elliptical, stationary bike, and treadmill. I've been doing it now for about two months, longer than I've ever stuck to a regimen before. I've tried exercising at home, and I just don't have the selfdiscipline. Doing it in a public place where others are also working out is much more fun. By the way, it's possible to get a lot of reading done while exercising.
The other big goal I have set for myself is to learn to swim well. I'm taking private lessons, and I am really enjoying it. The Y where I go has a heated pool, and I really like that.
I absolutely feel more emotionally fit when I am exercising regularly. That's a fringe benefit that is well worth the effort.

Comment on A New Braillewriter by egilbert3

I have a comment about the Perkins/APH Braillewriter. I want to emphasize that it's a minor quibble.

I'm sighted, and to me the colors of the Braillewiter make it look like a toy. So far, I'm seen pictures of raspberry, a darker blue, and a lighter blue. The plastic shell emphasizes this impression. A suggestion for future colors might be black or gray.

I'm making this comment be it might explain comments that a user might get about the new Braillewriter. The new Braillewriter is such an advance that it would be silly not to get one because of a color or the casual impressions that it might give.

I messed-up this audio file as well. Same problem as the audio from the Orioles VS Yankees game. Live and learn.

Oops! We lost the audio files for this post. I recorded it on my Braille Plus Icon and placed them in the Flash memory. I am unable to transfer them out and on to the web site. I've learned my lesson.

You guys are probably aware of this, but I'm not seeing the audio download links in the past couple of entries! Hope you enjoyed the extra three innings tonight. Not often a game is started in April and ends in August!

Brian, you and Rick are doing a phenomenal job on the Seeing Eye Single Tour so far! Glad you both had a great time in my birthplace of Philadelphia. Keep up the solid work and I will keep listening!

Hi, Thanks for the story. I would suggest using a stereo microphone to get the crowd sounds. Unfortunately, the Icon/Braille+ built in mic is just mono. I don't see the links for the test recordings as of yet in this post. So what kind of smart phone did you get? And can you finally enter the world of SMS text messages? I think you'll like SMS!
